Receptionist

Corporation de la Ville de Hearst / Corporation of the Town of Hearst

Full-Time • Hearst Region

Main Responsibilities:

  • Handle payments, verify amounts with invoices or accounts, maintain accurate cash counts, and prepare bank deposits. Manage petty cash, including reimbursements and monthly reporting.
  • Act as the initial point of contact by answering phone calls, providing relevant information or redirecting inquiries, and welcoming patrons.
  • Assist the Treasurer and provide support to all departments as needed.
  • Input parking ticket details into the system. Request information from the Ministry of Transportation about unpaid tickets and oversee the whole parking ticket management system.
  • Tally the funds collected from parking meters and prepare them for deposit.
  • Ensure that the photocopier room is stocked at all times and that all equipment is ready for use.
  • Develop and maintain a guide for the replacement at reception. Ensure prompt exchange of information to replacement personnel.
  • Perform other duties as may be requested by the Treasurer. 

Required Skills :

  • Certificate or College diploma in Office Administration, or related field is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or office administration role is preferred.
  • Experience with financial software.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) required.
  • High level of reliability, precision, organization, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle public interactions and unhappy customers.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and various software applications. 

Salary:

The salary is established according to the classification 4 of the Salary Administration Program and the level of qualifications and experience, which is between $24.11 and $27.55 per hour. A complete fringe benefits program, including an OMERS pension plan, is offered.
