Constance Lake Education Authority is accepting applications for an Secondary Special Education Teacher (SERT)
Constance Lake First Nation Education Authority is inviting candidacies for the position of Secondary Special Education Resource Teacher at the Mamawmatawa Holistic Education Centre, a facility providing community-based education from Early Childhood to Grade 12 learners.
Start Date: As soon as possible (2025-2025 School Year)
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A/B.Ed
· Intermediate (Grades 7–10) and Senior (Grades 11–12) qualifications
· Special Education Part 1, 2 and 3
· Five years teaching experience
· Must be in good standing with the Ontario Teachers College
· Must hold a Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
· Must be able to handle confidential materials with discretion
· Criminal Records Check as per CLEA Policy
· Ability to speak Cree-Ojibway or Oji-Cree is an asset
· Must go through a pre-employment screening by agreeing to complete a drug and alcohol test as per CLEA Policy.
The Mamawmatawa Holistic Centre offers educational programming to students from Junior Kindergarten to grade 12. Student success is at the forefront with many supports in place for student achievement such as teacher assistants, tutor escorts, literacy resource teacher, numeracy teacher, special education resource teachers, child and youth worker, social workers, cultural coordinator and other support services. Classroom resources such as Ipads, Smart boards, Chrome books and laptops make learning engaging and allow teachers to provide a new and interactive approach to learning. Professional development opportunities are continuously offered to support on-going learning for all staff. The Mamawmatawa Holistic Education Centre maintains high standards for student achievement and includes land based and cultural learning opportunities and experiences. Constance Lake is a Cree-Ojibway community which is accessible by Highway 11, approximately 30 km west of Hearst, Ontario.
