Job Summary
Villeneuve Construction is searching for a Shop Supervisor for Equipment Repair & Maintenance Operations
to oversee the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of company vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate will be supervising technicians and apprentices, scheduling and coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining accurate service records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise mechanics, technicians, and other garage staff.
- Plan, schedule, and assign work tasks, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure all vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired according to company standards and safety regulations.
- Perform or oversee routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Identify and address potential problems before they escalate.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Order necessary supplies and materials.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act)
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Leadership experience in supervising teams.
- Skilled in task planning, delegation, and prioritization
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Expertise in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in diagnosing mechanical issues.
- Willing to learn and operate with various OEM diagnostic software and fleet management programs.
- Proficient in common computer software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Minimum of 5 years' maintenance and repair experience is preferred.
- College of trades certification as a Truck and Coach Technician/Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a valuable asset
